i would like to weave you a tale of turmoil and woe.

the adventurous journey in which i embarked to retrieve a certain game called "dead rising"

now, if you could do me a justice and look at the following link

http://the-boxman.blogspot.com/2007/01/bomberman-honestly-i-dont-know-why-im.html

that was Friday January 19, this year.

and i quote "i got it only because they didnt have dead rising, which was the game i WANTED to see, but sadly it got stole from rogers"

this is where my journey starts.

i was fortunate enough to get my hands on an xbox 360 through mysterious powers, but at a fear that it could be taken away from me at any day i decided to rent one of the few games i was interested in. now i like zombies. it is indeed my favorite genre of movie, and a zombie game sounds good to me, but a zombie game where you beat zombies over the head with T.V.'s, sounds like a total delight that you can only get from skinning a Marmaduke. i dont know what a marmaduke is, but it sounds like fun to me.

so i went to rogers and did the sensable thing. i tried to rent it. to buy the game mike be thought as, a "financial risk" and so i set forth on my adventure and tried to rent it.

rogers didnt have it. every week i looked, until on the third week i asked a clerk when it was supposed to be returned.

"febuary 4th" they said and so i waited patiently. and on febuary 5TH i went in, in search for that game.

"they havent returned it yet"

and so i waited.......a month.....two months.....three months.

nothing. it is pretty safe to assume, they would not be returning the game.

fine....

so i was left with little recourse. i had to buy the game.

this presented me with even further issues.

first i went to ebgames, which is always a mistake. first of all i noticed it was used, the yellow sticker always gives it away. the second thing i notice is, its 59.99

how can you justify that...?

well ill tell you how, some twerp bought it, i went back today to see it was no longer on the shelf, and although i can say that person must have wanted it much more, i think he is rather selfish for buying it at that price.

so the game is rather important... i am forced to try other paths in my adventure.

by the way if your wondering why i did'nt buy it for 60, because chances are i would have (dont even mention the hippocritasism) the guy in the front desk says i need to be 17......."but i am 17" i pleaded....."we need to see I.D" says the clerk sternly.

ok so i try and buy it on Ebay next. of course if you've ever tried to purchase something like that on ebay you will know that the amazingly greedy americans will try to swindle you out of 10 dollars for shipping, on top of the overpriced sticker.

most of them on ebay are 60 dollars, and the best deal there slipped out of my fingers.

grrr, ok but if that wasnt bad enough, yesterday i turned 18 (yay) but when i try to buy it from bestbuy (its brand new and 49.99, i hate you EB)

so, finally we come to the end out my tale. tomorow, i must bring one of my parents (or guardians, however you want to say it) to bestbuy to purchase this game.

i have NEVER had more trouble, to play one game...

my point is.... it better be good... ill let you know...

by the way i think i should add, that i still check occasionally, and it still has'nt been returned to rogers.
sonic the hedgehog: the secret rings

i rented it, i played it for.... ONE HOUR.

this ladies and gentlemen is THE WORST game i have played ....possibly ever. i was totally flabbergasted when i played this game. they have totally ruined sonic.

ok, well the first 3D sonic game i played, was sonic adventure, the original for the dreamcast. it was one of THE BEST games i had ever played.

and in comparison to this new one id like to mention what is missing in this new sonic which sonic adventure, failed to lack.

1. a main town: the fact that there was one main place that you could familiarize yourself with was a good thing. it added a nice touch to the gameplay, and all around it gave the game a much warmer feel to it.

2. animative cutscenes: they didnt even really bother with this one, they just have this little photoshopped comic style cartoon every once in a while to create the illusion that there is a plot. oh yeah and forget about voice acting, youl spend all your time grimacing about the squeeky voices and corny jokes.

3. control: there is just no control at all in this one. they tried to involve the ingenuity of the wiimote, yes very good, bravo, but you cant CONTROL the dam thing. instead of using the analog stick, this time sonic runs on his own and you move him left and right with the wiimote. this is pretty laughable in the first place because if you could imagine this in the 2D version, all you would do is jump.

if they had tried just a little bit harder, maybe this wouldn't be such a loss. but i don't know i thin they've really ruined what used to be a good series of games.

ever since sonic adventure theres been a downfall in quality, in EACH game a noticeable decrease in entertainment.

even sonic adventure 2, which mind you is a very fun game, which i played for hours, was lacking something which the first one managed to keep. i think it was the town. the fact that you could roam around as your favorite sonic character and do whatever you please, and find neat stuff. in sonic 2 you just choose if you were good or bad, and you could even pick your character.

sonic heroes was bad enough that i sold it. and shadow the hedgehog...FORGET IT!!!! THE DAY THEY GIVE SONIC A GUN IS THE DAY I SAY NO MORE MY FRIEND!

apologies

i give this game a 2/10

it should be 1 but theres always something in a game that was mildly amusing. and in this case it was the interesting, yet unfortunately limited style of control.

ANIMAL CROSSING 3!!!

oh wait its just a cheap knock off from sony... and also i did a quick look and i dont see anything about "my summer vacation" 1 or 2.

obviously they wanted to hit the animal crossing crowd so cony cranked out a pleasant looking duplicate, and called it 3, because they didnt want to make it so obvious...

i likey

this looks fairly interesting, and may yet use the innovative control of the wii.

it actually looks like what was suppoed to be the sequel a fond game of mine, "no one can stop mr. domino"

strange name i know, but it was fun!

i thought there was going to be a sequel for the wii called "mr. D comes to town"

but i havent heard about it since...
bah...

expecting a review...?

well of course i wouldn't want to dissapoint my only reader...me. so i will talk a bit about rag doll kung fu

its good...

ummm it seems to me that gaming world has seen better days. i find myself with extra cash all of a sudden and no hot titles to spend it on. "join the club" i hear someone subconsciously thinking. are you going to stand for that?

are you going to sit there while the gaming world taunts you and teases you? do you realize how dumb it is. there are plenty of people right now, who would buy... ANYTHING if it came out. i mean we are starving for a new game, and those fools are going to wait until Christmas because they think their going to sell more! they're not!

you don't think so? you think everyone is going to buy every hot title that comes out this Christmas?

lets haul out the check list shall we...

ahem

  • super smash bros.
  • super Mario galaxy
  • half-life: episode 2
  • spore
  • guild wars: eye of the north (i looked it up)
  • grand theft auto IV
  • Zelda DS: phantom glass (laughs)
  • Bioshock
oh ya.... and we cant forget halo III, the game THAT EVERYONE MUST HAVE!! everyone will bow down to halo 3 because it is superior to every single first person shooter ever created, yes even the one its ripped of.

so... nine games...

that is... well... half-life is 40 and so i Zelda if Nintendo still knows what their doing

500 dollars even.... before tax, totaling 575 dollars

I'm not even going to pretend for a second that some nut case might buy ALL of these games. decisions will have to be made. choices will have to be met. and some games will not be bought... at least not right away.

but say... half these games came out now, which I'm pretty sure they could. think of how many they could sell, especially since school is out. their pretty foolish.

but hey don't listen to me, save up 575, its worth it!

geometry wars

Well now why would I be doing a review about such a small title? Well you underestimate the power of geometry. Geometry Wars is the most downloaded game on the Xbox 360 (so i hear) and is available on Steam for as little as the price of two goes on the DDR machine (thats four dollars).

I do like a good arcade shooter so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I have to say it's quite good. If you've ever played a game called "Mu-Cade" then that's a good comparison to this. But I also have to say if you took away the flashy effects and the really cool "mesh-wave" effect in the background.. this game might not be as interesting. I play it just to see how the effects of my new and improved blaster, will interact with the background mesh.

and of course with something as cool as that you've got to have a black hole or two, just to see what happens!

Yeah this game is pretty dam hectic, and the weak of heart might just a have a seizer... or two, but it's worth the risk. Of course game play consists of shooting things, and blowing things up, but were not playing this for the storyline, that's for sure.

and although it does chug a bit when my video recorder is in effect, it moves very quickly.

It really is your standard shooting gallery kind of game, but for four bucks... I'll take it.

Heres a small sample of the game, the only thing is, the music leaves much to be desired, so i added one of my fave's. Look away if you start to blink a lot

by the way if your wondering why I didn't rate this, it's because I don't think it really deserves to be judged, I just think its a good value.

STEAM

ive said it before and ill say it again, steam is the place to go for a wide selection of entertaining games!

and due to recent events, i will be able to play most of that that wide selection! hooray!

the first game on my list believe it or not, was a delightful game called "the crazy adventures of gumboy" a wonderful sidescroller, thats got a lot going for it!

firstly, this is one of the most visually pleasing games i have ever seen. i have to put it right up there with guildwars for graphics. yes it is a 2D game, but it has such a magical feel about it, i think the developers must have done every single image in photoshop or something because this game, is friggin sexy-looking, and i dont say the term likely...

second of all, the gameplay is just.....fun. nothing more then that, its just plain entertaining, and thats why we play games isnt it? forget the story, games are usually better without it, and i know i gave gears of war shit for not having story, but thats because it should have a story.

why? becuase throughout the game, it feels like it leading somewhere... what are these creatures? why are we at war with them? what do they want?

gumboy, doesnt even try to have a story and thats what i like about it. it tries to be fun, and a lot of games these days are trying to be a lot more then that.

ive always said, i would rather play a good game that tried to be simple, then a bad game that was trying to be complex.

the only thing i dont like about this game, is the control. not like..the buttons, or anything, but how you actually control your dude. it gets kind of agrivating sometimes, when he bounces around where you don't want him, but this is not too common, and i forgive it, just because it looks so nice :)

so i give this game a 8/1o its a good game and for TEN DOLLARS!?!? holy shit... buy this game, buy it now...

this is my video, the music is ...not mine, i got it from newgrounds a long time ago...

if you cant see, that means you are reading this not so long after i write it! thank you reader!!
gears of war...

ok i know ive already done it, but i went back and played it all the way through, this time with a friend...

i have to admit, with a friend, even the stupid beserker levels are fun, and thats saying a LOT!

i bought another controller, so i could play halo with my friend (i know its on my hate list....dont ask)

and i played a selection of xbox games with my friend master gex...

it was fun working together, and i might even replay the game on a harder setting, but the storyline is still lame and dried out, like a shriveled 1up shroom.

so, although i forget what i gave it before, ill give this game an updated 7/10
well well well i havent done anything in a while havent i?

thats going to change, first off shadowrun.

i have to say i was kind of dissapointed with this game, in more ways then one. first off id like to say that the PC version of the game is only available on vista, and cant be installed on XP. second of all you have to own a live account which means you have to pay microsoft money just to play online. thirdly the single player in this game, is.....fairly non-existant. four.. well thats enough for me at that point...

the gameplay is interesting, new and somewhat innovative of the first person shooter. now with the new addition of magic to the playing field, almost anything is possible.

i thought i might segragate this a bit...

teleportation

neat, its a good way to flash in and out of battle. if your in trouble, you can get out in a second, and your enemy probably wont know where you went, unless you were obvious about it.

drawback... of course there are always solid walls, and sometimes they arent so blatently obvious, so the next time you need to get out of a battle, you might not be able to, and that extra second really counts in this game...

Ressurection

a cool thing about this is that you arent quite alive. if the person that ressurects you dies then you lose health until death.

drawbacks... of course this means that when people die more and more, eventually everyones going to rely on one person to stay alive...

i havent tried to ressurect someone who ressurected me... im not sure how that would work...

smoke

i think of it as "ghosting". you leave your body and become this whipsy seethrough ghost of yourself, inpenatrable to bullets and weapons. although you can be hurt quite a bit by a ability called "gust" but the ability is so useless the only reason you would want to have it is for this.

summon

the last of the "major" spells, which of course summons a big fiend that tears your enemies apart, a fitting end.

you also have some technology at your disposal, including the ability to see through walls, a glider, auto-aim, and grenades...

the game is fairly fun, but gets kind of tiresome quick, also there arent too many levels to choose from and there is a lot of dying involved...

as for online, it might have been enhanced with a mic and earphone, but i think a 40 dollar price sticker for microsofts golden microphone, is asking too much, so they will have to deal with my dissapointment.

i give this game a 7/10

neat idea but there are just too many factors, that kill this game

Monday, June 11, 2007

wow..... haven't made a new post in a while... maybe because ive been playing garry's mod...

they've vamped it up to the point where you really can....do ANYTHING!

heres a short 5 minute video that i made over the weekened to prove it...

ps, ill be doing shadowrun shortly, looks like a fairly interesting game...

paper Mario part 3

well, it was hard on everyone but i managed to play and beat super paper Mario. i rented it on Sunday and beat it today (Saturday) and let me tell you it wasn't no walk in the park. i guess if i were to buy the game, i would've taken more time to enjoy it, but with a time limit as little as six days, you've got to prioritize.

one thing I've got to warn against... do not do what i did. if you play this game for too long you start to get frustrated with it and it doesn't really deserve frustration. i will say the game gets tedious around chapter six or seven though. at that time i was just thinking "i just want to get to the end, i just want to get to the end" but maybe that was only under the circumstances. i must say that this game was really good. i really liked everything. the setting, the concept and the plot, man oh man, you'd never think you'd find one in a Mario game, but this one was really good. first of all, this game gets big time points for pulling out the princess is stolen crap and putting in some actual story. its no longer about peach but about saving the universe, and in about eight or nine different dimensions. unfortunately i had a rather unpleasant shock by tripping over a plot twist near the end on a youtube video (thanks a lot... jerk) but ah well, in a way it made it interesting.

i really must put emphasis on how good the story really was, at the end, i almost shed a tear, it was really sad... but in a happy way, but oh oh oh ive said too much ^ ^

i like to see Luigi is actually playing a part in things, i hope that sticks. lets face it Luigi is a much more likable character then Mario, Mario's personality is really paper thin (heh heh). but honestly, once again Mario is reduced to a few head jerks and mumbles. I'm cool with the fact that Nintendo didn't want him to be a talking character, but they have to confront the fact that he will in turn be a "who cares" character. in fact I'm going to go as far as saying i kind of dislike Mario, he always triumphs in the end and he doesn't say a word about it.

the new villain is frigging AWESOME! hes got so much style and character, i really wish Nintendo could bring him back to something, i don't know, a cameo would be nice but of course i think he would need his own game. i am of course talking about the infamous Count Bleck, and besides his name he is in general a really cool character. nefarious is pretty cool, thats the counts brainwashing sidekick.

if you didn't know already the new gimmick is that you can switch between dimensions, very cool idea, and it would be welcome in games to come i think!

my only real complaint is its another (find the seven things) game... we really need to get away from that, but you know what, good job Nintendo!

8.5/9

paper mario part 2!

Ok its been a while but now I've finally played the thousand year door.

what can i say about this game? well i like the fact that it has bulk, which the previous game lacked some what. i think what really adds the extra fun in this game is the interactivity with the stars. you remember the old game? you summon a star and he does something for you right? not as easy this time, now you have to do a small mini game of sorts, and the effectiveness of the special completely relies on how well you do. now when you use one to attack all enemies, like in the first where you get this ok graphic of stars falling from no where, now you play a mini version of parapa-the-rappa. and when you use one to increase your attack and defense you get a small shooting gallery of laughs.

i have to say though.... still no laughs...thats strange... and like before there were some besmirches of inner humblies of desential laughter, i.e. something a four year, MIGHT laugh at, but there wasn't really any show stopping cacklers. the game over all was fantastic! i really liked the fact that peach wasnt captured by bowser for once (i still cant believe she was stolen by aliens) and i really liked the story line over all. one thing i would have changed in the plot though... i can buy a computer falling in love, but i cant buy him disobeying grodus... sorry it doesnt work, i know what i said was really weird but sue me. the way i would have done it is, in the end TEC asks peach of something to do with love, like... oh i dont know, something nintendo cliched like peach should stay with her forever, i dont know SOMETHING like that, and peach says no and tells TEC that she hates him or maybe she thinks hes evil or something and he malfunctions, and since hes connected to groduses base, everything goes haywire. its a little more adult and little less cliched, and ITS A LOT MORE INTERESTING!!!!

but besides that... i was disappointed at the fact that bowser was in this game. i know they wanted it to be fun to...control him and all but for like 5 seconds? boorrrrrring, bowsers a side note, and theres no need for him at ALL! the only reason i though they had him was maybe he would eventually play a huge bit in the end, which i would not have minded but they didn't do that... hes just there to make things awkward.

other then that, good game, i like the ending boss, i wont ruin anything for the 1 percent of people who haven't played this game...

heres a throw in video, thanks for reading

btw ive rented super paper mario, and plan to beat it by friday... wish me luck, its good so far!

.....i think so....
also id like to mention that Nintendo and Sega have just announced a game coming out (i dont know... fall)

"sonic and Mario in the Olympic games"

thank you wiire for bringing me up-to-date news.

.........
.........
.........
.........
..........................lol
hey hey

and now a word from our sponsors

please take a brief look at this review featured in the wiire ---> http://www.thewiire.com/review/115/3/Kororinpa_Marble_Mania

C?!?

I'm surprised wiire, that is very harsh.

Ok i agree this game could really use some more bulk, BUT let us take a small trip for a sec and take a look at some comparisons. lets agree for instance that we have a LOT of marble games. why is that? we've marble madness, a classic yes, we've get super monkey ball, we've got sticky balls, we've got like 50 flash games, and we've even got a new mini game in guild wars called roller beetle racing, what the hell is that?! Ok so we can agree we've got a lot of marble games. lets look at some of the most popular ones. marble madness is really fun, i have to say, but it is really frustrating. the biggest problem is that when you eventually die, you have to start all over again. granted usually you will want to start over, and is just as much fun the second time, but maybe not the twenty second time. now lets look at the inappropriately titled super monkey balls <-- on purpose. i sold my copy, sorry to say, it was so frigging annoying i had to get it away from myself. not only do you have to start all over when you die, but you have to wrestle your way through so many REALLY annoying levels. why? so you can unlock their mini games. thats just stupid. so unless you play the game to death and are good enough to play hard mode, you have to replay medium over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and YOU DO SEE HOW BORING THIS IS?!?! now let have a look in my *cough* archives, oh yes, please direct your attention to this! -----> http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/action/supermonkeyball/review.html

what the hell? original? didn't we just see this game like one bajillion times? thank you gamespot for proving my point.

ok now look at this -------> http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/kororinpa/review.html

MEDIOCRE!? grrr your really cheesing me off

now for the actual review, this game was really good i got to say. i played it all the way through to the end and i never ONCE got frustrated with it. it felt really natural with the wiimote. instead of mastering some joystick, or a combination of buttons you have to tilt the wii controller which tilts the word for your ball to roll. aaahhhh it feels sooo good! <3 (thats the only time i will do that)

the game was really fun and just plain entertaining, and you know what? multiplayer was fun too! i played it with my cousin and we had a lot of fun, although she was not as good as was, it was fun just watching it (although just a bit painful). the fun concept of a marble combined with the ingenuity of turning the world around makes for an amazing experience. it does things like having a platform twist sideways so you have to tilt your wiimote. its hard to explain so i thought id give you a neato video.

as you can see, this game is not for the weak of hearted. also id like to mention that some of you might find that the music resembles that found in a common sonic and hedgehog game. the music played in the above video is not the music played in that level, the person playing the game unlocked that piece of music. good eh?

the only music i could'nt stand was played during levels 1-10 and I'm sure you'll agree. it was WAY to melancholy. anyways, i think everyone is is too hard on this game. no it isn't all that hard with practice, ill agree and yes it could use some fleshing out but you know what, i would sell super monkey ball to buy this game, ANY day.

thanks for reading, my verdict is 8/10

paper Mario part I

Ok fans here it is, the new paper Mario was released recently (without me having knowledge of it, how do they DO that?) and people are getting pretty excited. i will do super paper Mario, but first a trip through time.

having just replayed paper Mario on my bearable emulator i can give a pretty estimate review (i know you don't care but I'm doing it anyway)

of course bowser has kidnapped peach again, and we roll through the same shtick, of course when this game came out it was'nt nearly as boring. hey i like the whole princess in dire need cliche and all, but some traditions should be forgotten. just as with the new Zelda game, lets PLEEAAASE find a new enemy besides Ganondorf? for Christ sake.

Ok so I've got to say, my favorite mission, is the haunted forest one with Tubba Blubba. the forest is really neat, i love Tubba, he's like kinda funny looking, but when hes chasing you, HOLY SHIT. Run the heck out of there, i hope they bring him back, but they never do :(

also i should mention after about the fourth fortress i was getting pretty tired of the game. fighting bad guys is fun, but it's not the kind of thing you want to do all the time, they need some more jokes and interaction to fill in the blanks.

also i really resent the fact that they treat you like a child. the best example is when you go to a store, and they have little pictures of the items, not cool. give me a nice clean interface any old day, don't worry the kiddies are smart, they'll figure it out.

now i have a confession. I've never played the thousand year door. *shock*. have no fear I've bought a copy from Ebay for twenty dollars :D

the reason i bring this up. i was reading a review abut the new paper Mario, and i hear that the paper Mario series was... funny? comical even? am i hearing this right? no no no. i was complexed when i heard this astonishing trinket of gaming knowledge. paper Mario is funny huh? and what was more strange is it was worded, "is comical like its predecessors".

wow, man i don't know what they've been smoking, but the paper Mario i just played for n64, was not funny. i know because i actually played it after i heard this quote, JUST to make sure. its not even worth a chuckle. its like sort of reaching for a cough of a dying laugh, but thats it. the reason i brought up the fact that i will be playing the thousand year door, is because i want to make sure this quote is not completely driveling and drooley as it sounds. i enjoy a good laugh in games, its called entertainment, people generally like entertainment. and as for the new paper Mario, I've seen some pictures (such as this one here ----> Link: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v169/Epy0n/100_2622.jpg

which proves its humor, it looks like it has a few good laughs.

so to reiterate, over paper Mario (lets call it paper mario64)... id give it 7/10

it's good, i like it, which is more then i can say for most RPGs, but hey, theres room for improvement.

nightfall

a note about guild wars.

its a very innovative game for this era thats for sure. guidwars to me is a glimmer of hope in the long strand of evolution in the gaming world. at least with mmorpgs. after so many horrible looking games, such as everquest and star wars galaxy, guild wars is the peak of perfection on graphics and visual effects. half the reason i play the game is to see all the neat environments. compelling, breath-taking, and over all beautifully orchestrated to seem real and fantastic (fantastic meaning fantasy). the more amazing and more innovative thing is that it doesn't require payment per month. honestly, even if it was a bad game (which it isn't) i would play it purely as a stand, or statement to all those money grubbing companies, who think that their game is so great that they should force us (the people) to give them money forever rather then just pay them for the product.

anyways before i get too off topic, nightfall leaves no disappointment for additional material. the heroes are an obvious improvement, and you play the original guild wars you will already see them appear in groups, and in conversation. the biggest improvement in gameplay is the sunspear promotion points. they slow down the game to a perfect speed, where its impossible to be "run" through the game like one might have done in previous occasions and allow people to enjoy the game and story like they should. basically the once useless yet neat looking resurrection points have priests around them, where you can claim bounties, which last until you enter a town. it might be for insects or plants or anything in a category, there isn't really any restrictions. what i mean by that is you can have more then one, and you can have one for any monster. so every time you kill a monster according to your bounty you will get promotion points. after a certain number of promotion points you get promoted. its the whole rising through to ranks, all over again! sort of like levels but not really! ok so how does this slow down the game? well you cant enter certain missions unless your above a certain rank, and you cant claim some quests unless your above a certain rank, therefore if you want to continue the game, your going to have to kill a bunch of monsters.

sure you can still get people to run you to the next towns but you wont be able to do the missions unless your like, a general.

as far as what the game looks and sounds like, it seems to use a much more realistic environment resembling Africa and Asia. the monsters have been improved, with a more advanced interaction with the environment, such as mandragors (spider-like monsters) that actually move through ground instead of randomly emerging from the ground like we've seen devourers do so many times in prophecies (guild wars 1).

overall nightfall is a very nice improvement and is definitely worth buying.

9/10

(its wrong to give a game a perfect score, theres always room for improvement)

i will be doing nightfall soon

just one more brief addition since im tired of typing (check my last three posts are in one night)

please go to www.fun-motion.com

free games, all to do with physics, all of them small company or student projects (nice!)
bomberman

honestly i dont know why im waisting my time on this game, i got it only because they didnt have dead rising, which was the game i WANTED to see, but sadly it got stole from rogers, and they cant keep track of their crap so,

the one thing that pissed me off SEVERLY is the character setup. they make this big fuss when you make the character your going to play with, neato graphics, this amaaaaazing animation of a robot being fused together, and then it lets you pick your gender, and im thinking GREAT! im gonna be able to custamize this guy wayyyy to the max, and hes going to look cool and everythings going to be happy, pick my gender, then i pick my color, then im done....---------------->>>>what?

done already? i didnt even get to name him!!!! i cant imagine what online would be like. 4 to 8 people on hundreds of servers, and theyre all either blakc or white, (because those are the COOL colors) and all named PLAYER. great. this game could have been done in flash, and that says it all, i give this game a 3/10!!!

3/10!
a lot of stuff has turned up but lets start with gears of war.

6/10

sorry i had to. gears of war is the next halo, and you all should know how much i despise halo. you see what happens is people find somthing that works and they stick with, they dont think to change they just do it, most of the time without thinking and thats what gears of war is, they said "look at halo its making money, wed like to make some money to, oh i know lets make a game" "good idea george, lets make a game, but what kind of game should we make" "weeell halo's making money maybe we should make a game like halo!" "good idea goerge"

ya i know its a cheap shot, but it bugs me when people are looking to make a game for the sheer profit and not to be creative.

lets look at gear more indepthly shall we? "yes"

ok the controls, i can deal with in fact i like the controls, except for the fact that it doesnt seem to matter what kind of cover you have, your always taking hits, you use the y button for just about everything, and there is no jump key except on the full moon on the second tuesday of november when the sun had bloomed the iris flower that is in the soil of NATURUALLY fermented nutrients instead of the kind you get at dominion... you get my point.

also there is no health bar! i know its novil but jeeze! i cant really tell when im dead or dying most of the time. and if that werent enough! they add an unkillable boss (BAD IDEA) what kind of person comes up with idea that an unkillable big hunking boos, that kills you with one punch and runs at about 20 klks per second would be a good idea. im sorry, but it sucks, that is exactly what killed it for me with the game blasto. remember that game? anyone? that game was for the first PS and it was with this guy with an abnormally large chest going around shooting green aliens heads off. it was pretty good, until you came across tiny, who couldnt be killed and killed you instantly, it wasnt fun then and its not fun now.

also the envirnment get pretty borring, since there are no actual level structure, and its one loooong session you cant tell when its the next part, or area, partly because the area around you doesnt seem to change, you seen the trailer yet? with madworld in the background, great trailer but that little city street that the guy walks down is practically the entire game.

on the upside, it killed time, and it vagued entertaining, and you know what? the graphics were nice, so its not a bad little game, and hey the online could be good i havent tried it yet.

snoopy versus the red baron

hey i know it sounds like a little kiddy game, but dont underestimate the power of snoopy and his sopwith camel. overall i thought this was a good little game. if your bored, and want to have fun for like half an hour before you have to do something important, this game is perfect for filling in the cracks of your day.

to speak about ina more detailed way though lets look at it more closely.

the thing i have to say i LOVED about this game was the force feedback. when your so used to no force feedback with game like battlefield, it is sooo refreshing to play a game like this. some weapons effect force-feedback such as the lighting bolt canon, and some dont of course, when your plane is damaged you get little jolts as though your going down at any moment, honestly, i didnt think much of this game either but when you play it with force-feedback you really start to like it more.

what i was kind of disspointed was the first thing you do in the game is lose snoopy's doghouse and trade it in for a real sopwith camel, i can see why they did it, but i still would have liked to play at least one level with his old red house. =*(

ah well. another thing i liked was the music. usually i turn off music in games because its pretty distracting and repetative, but the music in this game made it feel like a movie, like you were in one of those old world war I movies. i dont know. i liked the handeling of the plane although sometimes your plane dodges out of the camera and you cant see what your doing, this doesnt ditract much because it doesnt happen often and when it does, for a short time, but i thought id just mention it. i liked the little rambling snoopy shouts when you finish a mission and i even liked the little peanuts characters telling you what to do, at least they got voice acotrs for ... most of the characters, and the cinematics werent too annoying. they follow the peanuts way of thinking pretty good, and there isnt TOO much of woodstock to speak of, although you still get his cute little chirps from time to time, and he is a buyable character.

the weapons were cool although not too true to the old peanut stlye, and the envirornments were well done. id have to say this was a well done little game for what its worth, but id advise you buy it for the pc, since it has no harmful copyprotection and the forcefeedback triples the value of this game.

to buy it on the console is very wasteful.

also for people playing on the pc, dont use the keyboard if you have a joystick with forcefeedback, the forcefeedback actually affects the game if yor not holding on to your stick.

overall i give this game an 8/10

and if you want to see some footage that i took of the games highlights i woudl suggest following this link....
